Program serves over 30,000 area residents annually with food and clothing during periods of unemployment and personal tragedy. The Food Pantry is the most utilized components of this service. Recipients are referred by state, city and private social service agencies. Through the Department of Human Services, the Emergency Services program also provides emergency food and formula for infants up to one-year old.

 
Mr. Thompson at Firman's Food Pantry  
• In its efforts to alleviate hunger in Chicago, Firman's food pantry served over 30,000 people in FY10 &   FY11 that included special food baskets for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays
• Over 300 clients served through the infant Formula Program
• Worked closely with the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Chicago Anti-Hunger food banks to aid   in Firman's mission to -alleviate hunger in Chicago
• Worked collaboratively with Firman's Women's Auxiliary, churches and individuals to provide clothing,   furniture and appliances for families in need
