Early Childhood Learning Center East - Classroom A Teachers

Ms. Fleming and Ms. Miles teachers at ECLCE—Classroom A stated that this week the children are doing art and craft projects for Father’s Day. Using materials such as construction paper, popsicle sticks, cloth material, paint, sand, and roll-on glitter glue.

They further stated that the young children learn thru play, it’s said to be child selected not teacher directed.

They added that the 2 years-olds like to explore new things each and every day. They all ask tons of questions to their teachers. It seems that these young boys and girls are ecstatic to learn everything enabling them to gain a better understanding of concepts.

Ms. Fleming and Ms. Miles work with the children on Cause & Effect, for instance if a child is to touch something cold or hot they would immediately comprehend the after effect it had on him or her. Our children are also learning to work on computers, concluded Fleming and Miles.

  Happy Father's Day Cake Recipe

Start by lining a 9-by-12-inch cardboard shirt box with tissue paper. Bake a cake in a 9-by-12-inch cake pan, remove from the pan, cool and place on waxed paper. Cover with a larger piece of waxed paper and flip the cake over and into the box (the cake bottom should face up).

Frost with a pastel-colored icing. Cut a collar and two cuffs out of white paper. The collar is a strip, rolled into a ring and taped, with a small "v" cut out of the center. The cuffs are rectangles with candy cuff links. Add a colorful frosting tie below the point where the collar will be placed.

Just before serving, trim away the waxed paper and add the collar and cuffs
