- Firman supporters helped in supplying books and other needed educational materials to empower ABE/GED students to meet their educational goals.
- New location at 4910 King Drive, 3rd Floor, established for increased student enrollment.

ARC II Tutor/Mentor Program

- Provided tutor/mentor services for over 300 students at McCorkle and Mollison Elementary Schools and Tilden High School in FY 06 & 07.
- Marked significant reading gains for program participants.
- 100% of ARC II participants were promoted to the next grade level.
- Initiated an annual awards program to recognize students' dedication and hard work.
- Created the Phoenix logo for ARC II and slogan "ARC II Gives You the Fire to Take Your Grades Higher!"
- Created a monthly newsletter for the ARC II Tutor/Mentor Program.

Chicago Family Case Management (CFCM)
|

- Provided case management services to over 600 clients via community parterships and collaborations.
- 164 pregnant women received adequate pre-natal care.
- Facilitated immunizations for 398 infants.
- Conducted quarterly "Parenting Workshops".
- 100% of active cases of pregnant women have adequate and documented prenatal care.
- 100% of active infant cases have updated immunization records.

- Provided 12 anti-violence empowering workshops for children, teachers, and families.
- Attended all CAPS meetings in the 2nd Police District.
- Served over 50 clients needing services via community partnerships and collaborations.

Project YEAH (Youth Empowerment to Access Health) |

- Provided over 100 families access to the ALL KIDS program
- Took part in all ALL KIDS events
- Marketed ALL KIDS throughout Firman and the community

Voter Registration |

- Firman produced 25 in-house Voter Registrars to register our consumers and the community at large.
- Took part in Firman's Community Days to register community residents.

Emergency Services
- In its efforts to alleviate hunger in Chicago, Firman's food pantry served over 30,000 people in FY06 & FY07 that included special food baskets for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays
- Over 300 clients served through the infant Formula Program
- Worked closely with the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Chicago Anti-Hunger food banks to aid in Firman's mission to -alleviate hunger in Chicago
- Worked collaboratively with Firman's Women's Auxiliary, churches and individuals to provide clothing, furniture and appliances for families in need

Communications, Development & External Affairs

This department is an all encompassing communications, marketing, fundraising, and public relations entity. It is responsible for the management of Firman Community Services' fundraising activities, writing of grant proposals, issuance of public statements, the Food Pantry, Emergency Clothing distribution, external/internal affairs, the media, and advocacy activities.
- Acquired funding in excess of $1,000,000 from grant awards.
- Managed Firman's WebPages: www.firmancs.org.
Firman's Children Services received over 100 inquiries in response to the infomercial aired on Chicago Access FYI 27.
- Hosted an entire season of "The Firman Forum" on HOTLINE 21 which featured managerial representatives from Chicago Public Schools, Clerk for the Circuit Court of Cook County, Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago Housing Authority, the Emergency Fund for Needy People, and the Illinois Hunger Coalition.
Worked in conjunction with program directors to market and heighten the visibility of their respective programs via brochures and the media

Throughout FY06 & FY07, Firman Community Services helped to teach, inspire, empower, change and improve lives. In starting the new millennium, we will continue to help those in need. We all must challenge ourselves to continue "the caring" and with your assistance, dedication and encouragement, Firman will continue to succor our constituents to acquire a better life for themselves and continue its ongoing mission, to focus on children and families, well into the next millennium. Always remember, "The Children Today, Our World Tomorrow."
